Lemon Fencing have just completed an install of a new double-leaf entrance gate together with side pedestrian access gate, and chose Alexandra to manufacture and supply them. The school in Essex needed a secure metal gate set that could be automated, as well as a side access control gate that pupils and visitors could use. Both gate sets had to be coloured to match the schools blue branding colour.
Due to the spec of the job, twin-wire Protek 868 mesh gates were chosen for their excellent strength and safety features. The mesh on the gate frame features over-lapping thick wires that make it very difficult for a would-be intruder to cut through using conventional tools. The main school access gate also features in-line drop bolts which are designed specifically to prevent protruding sharp edges sticking out. This adds an excellent level of safety for school and educational sector use.
While the pedestrian side gate was not automated, it still needed to self-close once visitors had entered. This was solved by using a Locinox Tiger gate self-closer attached between the gate frame and dig-in ground post. This ensures access security is still maintained when specifying a manual access gate for school use.
Before supplying to the installer, both gates were powder-coated in RAL 5010 Gentian Blue. Not only does this make the gates match the school’s colour, it provides a long-lasting finish that protects the metal against weathering.
Upon completion, the school now have a high-quality new addition to their premises, that will last for many years and provide secure access control for their pupils, staff and visitors.
