A hoarding and groundworks contractor who primarily operates in the capital approached Alexandra to provide a temporary site gate for a security-critical building site located near the Shard in central London. The perimeter security required a 3m high timber hoarding, which necessitated a temporary access gate to match. As digging was prohibited in the area, the gate posts had to be supported on concrete blocks. Fortunately, SiteGard gates were ideal for the job as they come with precision engineered corner post straps that can securely hold the gate without breaking ground.
To enhance security, the contractor fitted an anti-climb roller fence topper to the gate, while a green material was used to cover the standard mesh of the gate to ensure privacy. SiteGard gates also come with lockable slide latches and drop-bolts, making it unnecessary to add any extra security features to keep the gate securely locked when not in use.
SiteGard gates were preferred over standard temporary gates for this project as the construction was expected to run for an extended period of time, and their high-quality powder-coated finish ensures that minor scrapes do not seriously damage the gate, making it continue to look great over time. Appearance is just as important, especially for a prestige site like this.
